Unmoored at Sea

I read a novel recently, Prophet Song by Paul Lynch. An interesting take on the refugee crisis with a twist. It’s based in Ireland and something dystopian happens there. I don’t want to say more because I want you to read it.

I read it without any backstory, no knowledge on the author or what he was trying to achieve. It was an impulse buy at the Airport.

The funny thing is, I came out of the novel concluding the very opposite of what the author, I eventually figured out, was trying to convey.

The basic notion is one of empathy or the lack some people have of it. He is trying to say, look here, imagine this happened here in the west (to white people), how would react, how would you feel?

Would you feel different?

It’s a pretty good novel. The verse, prose, the language blah blah, is very interesting. The narrative style is unique. A literary delight.

I would suggest any avid reader to dig in. If you don’t read much, then there’s a long list of other books I would recommend however.

The book is a Swan Song to the refugeephiles.

It’s also a Prophet Song as we are seeing the emergence of a similar phenomenon in the United Kingdom, right now, live, to anyone paying attention.

I used to find it jarring to read characters in a story who don’t make sense, who make stupid or unnatural decisions and the novel has plenty of these. But no longer so. There is a distinct rise of such people in the populace. The cognitive decline and mental disorder is palpable, not just on the fringe but directly in the elite, right at the very very top.

A fish rots from the head down, as they say…

You think I speak hyperbole.

Look directly at Biden. While the world burns, this guy is blabbering on cloud nine. The airplane is diving and the pilot is missing. The National Treasury is simultaneously looted.

Look at his VP (the copilot), now running for president. I would not place her IQ above 90 and I’m being generous.

She hides from interviews because she sounds so dumb. Almost never talks off script because when she does, she says something so wildly stupid that even a media giving 100% cover cannot defend it.

Let’s go further afield.

TwoTierKier visibly looks like he doesn’t know what he is doing. He looks like he’s taking orders from some unknown higher power while under duress. His body language can’t hide it.

His “Foreign Secretary” Lammy is a certified nut job. I’ve followed him for years and when I heard of his appointment, my jaw hit the floor so hard, I think I needed an orthodontist.

His Chancellor is a robot. ChatGPT has a more human interface (and better intelligence).

It doesn’t stop there. The leader of Germany. Turn off your brain and watch him just as an animal would for a moment, as if you were observing a pack of dogs or a troop of chimpanzees. It is clear this guy couldn’t lead a flock of headless chicken, let alone Europe’s superpower. He has abdicated is power to the EU’s High Commission.

France, look at the “wife”. Something went terribly wrong there. Un-deny-able. He has lost North Africa to the Russians and Chinese. It’s a Hunger Games leadership crowned by an insane Olympic Ceremony.

Speaking of the Olympics. They’ve openly come out and said they can’t distinguish between a man and woman. It’s whatever the passport says. This is ludicrously stupid. We are told to ignore the evidence of the eyes, of the chromosomes, and cheer like lemmings.

Bread and Circuses. Ancient civilizations knew about these.

Rome fell because the leadership went crazy. The common man must have been reeling.

Speaking of the common man, he is not so common anymore. At least half the population is unmoored, out at sea, with mental scurvy. Indoctrinated by 10 years of “education”, capped by a Marxist University, then polished by wage slavery.

Which brings us back to Prophet Song. It’s more prophetic than I think the Author intended it to be.
