Bowels
What can I say, the fasting has become so normal now that it doesn’t require or consume much thought and though as a reader you may not want to hear this, I have to talk a little about bowel movements. One day, you may actually attempt a similar feat and it would be prudent for me to give you an accurate picture.
Firstly, at the beginning stages, if you’ve followed so far (see day 1), you will know that I took some Magnesium Citrate and spent the night in the bathroom, not hilarious, that helped clear most of the junk at the outset.
The next few days there was some flow. By day 7 things mostly stopped and that is actually a wonderful feeling, not having to do the business two or three times a day!
However, yesterday again, I had some loose motion, quite a bit of gas and major stomach rumblings. It sounded like a factory down there, a mechanical plumbing system, doing some wretched work! It may have been triggered by the coconut water but I can’t be sure. Whatever it was, it was over soon and then I was back to normal.
The main rule seems to be, don’t panic, don’t over think and just let things be. They pass and you just carry on.
Jim
Then I had a lovely chat with Jim Dreaver. It’s always fascinating to speak with someone you have seen interviewed on YouTube and more enlightening to speak with an Awakened soul.

I like him a lot, though I did most of the talking! His book which I posted a link to earlier (find a link here) is actually quite good. I haven’t read much of it but when you read as much as I do, you can tell that it a keeper. I think I will be seeing a lot more of him in the coming months. He gave me some homework to do as well, hows that!
It’s called “Mirror Meditation” and when I get a good hang of it, I write about that too.
Healthwise
Things are good, the weight loss is still steady. I managed to do 30 mins of cardio. 15 mins brisk walk on my new powerless treadmill, it’s fantastic (pictures coming soon), 10 mins on the spin bike and 5 on the rowing machine. Followed by 10 mins in the Sauna and 5 in the chill pool. My energy is great, I am able to do a full days work most adequately.
I am meditating twice a day for approximately 20 mins each session. I take a little chill time at lunch. Nothing major to report here, the angels are not singing to me yet.
Some Rules for Fasting
I am still a beginner. This is my first major fast, the first fast being just 3 days conducted a year ago. There are many more qualified experts which you might want to consult, so buyers beware...
Also, be sensible, if you have a medical condition or in any way in need of medical help. Consult a doctor. The below is just my personal experience so far and I have a lot to learn still.
The most important thing is not to panic
During the first few days, all the programming and brainwashing you have had in your life will come up. You will fear fasting is dangerous, that you will die, that you need supplements, that you need protein, that your muscles will atrophy, that you will have no energy, that it is impossible, etc... The list is endless.
It’s all utter, unqualified BS.
Be with feelings, Don’t fight feelings
Emotions will come up, for me it was primarily loneliness but there were others. It comes and then goes. Don’t let it make you loose faith in what you are doing. The feeling always go way and then you feel better.
Meditate Daily
Use whatever method you know. You don’t need books though you can consult some quickly if you need pointers. What I found is that I have read so many books on meditation that it actually caused conflict in my brain on which method to use while meditating! That’s annoying.
A better system is consult your own intuition. Main things being, keep a straight spine, breath both rhythmically and smoothly, then let go of all anticipation, all rules, all thought, as best as you can without getting worked up about it. Simple.
Limit all Media
The media is a cesspool. Social media is at a distraction. Just avoid it and enjoy the peace while you are fasting. Don’t bother with books or articles either and for heavens sake, stay away from The News.
Don’t be afraid to go out
Keep a social life. Go out and be with people. If you are afraid about temptation, then stay in for the first 3 to 4 days. After that I promise you that nothing will effect you adversely. On the contrary, you will be that rock that everyone wants to lean on.
Don’t be afraid to work out
You are going to have plenty of energy on the fast as soon as your body switches regimes. Forget about starvation mode and other such nonsense. My only major recommendation is to always start very light and then to build up more speed or resistance. Also, you will not be looking to break any records or set time and weight goals. Just aim for light conditioning. Longer is better than shorter.
Don’t announce your fast
to anyone that will be either negative or overly worried about you. There will be quite a few people like that. However find people that will support you. Write about your experience, either on a blog like this or in a journal. It is really helpful.
Make the fast Spiritual
This fast is not about losing weight. Though it has been a wonderful side effect. The fast is about really getting to understand the self. So make the fast about that, whatever you believe in. I truly believe that having a higher goal is beneficial and what makes the fast really worth it.
finally….
Break the rules, add the rules
I started this fast as a pure water fast. A few days in I broke the rules by adding a little coconut water. Then midway through the fast I add the condition of no media, no book, no audio etc… 4 days later I broke the rule for limited and legitimate reasons. Just remember that this will be your fast.
You make and break the rules and give a damn what anyone else says…
And that’s all folks,

The Vikid Truth
