As we sit here watching the great fiasco’s of 2020 a curious thought crossed my mind.
If you have been thinking of politics for any time at all then you will be familiar with the comparison of our present day with the collapse of the Roman Empire. There are so many similarities…
It’s easy to go over the top and to imagine the sky is falling if you are a Trump supporter. The Democrats did the same thing in 2016. None of the scare stories actually came true by the way. And I suspect it will be similar with Biden. He will be an impotent king (by design) and the viceroys will be actually in control. You have to be blind not to see it. But blindness is in abundance.
Neither party has monopolistic power but a few things are certain. The old ways are over. Politicians and Industrialist have been outmaneuvered.
Big Tech is in control and the promised Shangrilla of a Techno-Utopian society will cede to a Huxley-Orwellian nightmare.
How long it will take we don’t know. We now have the likes of this lunatic in power. Look into those eyes.
And it is quite clear he will do anything necessary to get the outcome he envisages. Neither is he alone. These guys (and gals) are in full control of the narrative.
The point I was thinking about is, imagine you were some pleb (cause pleb you are) in January 49 BC. Julius Cesar is about the cross the Rubicon and end the Roman Republic, transforming it into an Imperium. Or take yourself some 300 years forward when the Empire itself starts to collapse.
You go around your village and trying convince people about what is happening. No one is listening, and you get politely reminded to shut trap or be excommunicated / decapitated. You plot an exile to nowhere, to try and escape the system. Sounds silly right? Because it is.
We are literally in no different position. With Big Tech, there is nowhere on earth out of reach, no mountain to hide on and no thought that can be hidden. Convincing humanity is beyond capacity, in fact it’s insanity.
I should know. I was one that had no hope to be convinced, to my fathers demise, I saw it in his eyes. It was not possible. I was an insufferable know it all. An early version of Greta. In the end, I was never actually convinced either. What happened to change my mind was some thing rather miraculous and it had nothing to do with being persuaded by anyone person. Perhaps, one day, I will write about it. It was luck, not merit.
History is tidal and you ain’t stopping the tide.
Which brings me to Spirituality.
Enlightened Masters
Secondly, I have been involved with several genuinely ‘evolved’ spiritual beings over the last 5 years. I regularly talk with 2 ‘enlightened masters’ and I have a bunch of friends involved in deep spiritual practices.
I will say this with categorical certainty,
I have never met more stupid people than the Spiritual inclined
They are even more insufferable than the intelligentsia. The people of ‘Science’ think they are right because of their logical prowess. They have studied the forces of nature, they have mathematical models and wield the power of the computing machines. They can predict the weather and look at light from stars billions of year old, analyzing their spectra… They extend this knowledge to human affairs (erroneously) and dismiss anyone who disagrees.
The Spiritual Community, on the other hand, know they are right because they have ‘pure’ intentions. Here, I distinguish them as separate from the ‘Religious community’, who are a different crew all together.
Many in the spiritual community have done psychedelics of one kind or another and have had profound experiences in and out of ceremonies or through meditation etc... They are often artists or musicians and have a ‘love’ of nature. However, they are profoundly ignorant.
I have never seen a group of people who profess more about love whilst holding some of the deepest levels of resentment I have seen in human beings. Who preach more about transparency while engaging in deceit. Who talk so endlessly about social harmony while avoiding all social obligation. Who take more in form of government aide and services in one year than they will put back in a life time. They do this while cursing the people who actually paid for their lifestyles. Go figure…
I know one enlightened master who preaches that we are ‘pure awareness’ and that ‘we never die’. He has to date, been hiding from the virus in his house since mid March.
Doesn’t it make you just laugh!
The tide is coming in. Perhaps you hold a champagne glass and celebrate behind closed curtains. Perhaps you are terrified of what is going to happen because no one is listening.
I have chosen to do both and much more. Tonight was fueled with Prosecco and Red Wine. I laughed (and cried), I watched life like my plebeian counterpart two Melania previously.
(Did you catch that joke? 😄)
