What if the Universe was a beautiful song or better still a joke?
I was sitting recently listening a beautiful cover of Bob Dylan’s, Don’t Think Twice,
when it occurred to me that perhaps we just live in a beautiful song. What I’ve been doing, and I think rest of us are doing the same thing, is going around our lives trying to figure out what the song is, rather that listening to it, but you’re either in the song or not.
Endlessly, even sincerely, asking why this song, analyzing the song and trying to figure it out, isn’t being in the song. You miss the entire point. You miss the joy in the music and the real message it conveys. Which is way beyond anything intellectual.
I don’t know what was in Dylan’s mind when he wrote this particular piece but the Divine Comedy of the Universe just showed me the joke and I laughed a belly full! The song is this article in musical form. A divine joke, I wonder if you can see it? An intention I didn’t start with… but don’t think twice, it’s alright ;-)
Now, when someone tells you a good joke, or your sitting on the couch enjoying a great sitcom, either your laughing a belly full or you just don’t get it. All, the professors in the world, explaining the mechanics of the joke and ‘why’ it is funny etc… wont make it funny!
You miss the point entirely.
All the Karens in the world, upset that the joke is offensive are wasting their time.
We are the Professors and Karens.
Some of us, the profs, sit analyzing endlessly, reading philosophy or science, getting stuck in spirituality and meditating 3 hours a day. I was guilty of this. A great philosopher and yogi, I have been, what a joke!
Others, the Karens, spend the whole time complaining that things are not how they should be. And don’t we know a bunch of those? They’ve practically taken over the world right now. We’re living in the Karen Zeitgeist.
Don’t go outside, it’s dangerous!
They constantly want to ‘change’ the world, always ‘for the better’. They care deeply about others and want to ‘protect’ them, especially from themselves and their ‘wrong think’. They can join NGO’s, they can go political, join local associations or any of the numerous ways of pursuing these ends.
Some literally just sit and complain with no end in site. Others just express their frustrations with anger or an abusive nature. The routes of expression are quite infinite in this regard. The energy behind, is the same.
But in all this we’re missing the Song!
We are missing the joke, which is not on us, but for us to enjoy. Sometimes to laugh at ourselves but most of the time, to just appreciate the show.
And that’s,

The Vikid Truth
