It isn’t kosher to recommend or review a book without reading it. However, that’s what I am going to do.
Like being a scout at a local school trial, you just know when a kids got it. I had that same feeling when I first saw Alcaraz. That boy was going to be a phenomenal Tennis player. Sometimes you just know.
So it goes with this book.
So far, I’ve just read the first story, not even the entire chapter. It starts off with Ian Taylor, the founder of Vitol, the world’s largest commodity trader. It begins with a plane’s plunging descent into Benghazi, where a deal is made that changes history. I thought I was well informed. Guess not. Never heard about this guy, never understood how these things worked.
I would like to say more here but I don’t feel entirely free to (that’s where the experiment comes in). So, for now, I recommend you buy the book. But you’re not a nutter like The Vikid Truth, so I doubt you will.
That’s what I bought in the last 2 days. I’m a book scout and this one is a winner.
A Possible New Experiment
I’ve decided to go with intuition, it came to me as a spark this morning. The idea was to monetize part of this Substack.
It’s not for the money. Unlike Elon’s Twitter I am not hemorrhaging cash but like the Tweetie Bird, I want to restrict some of what I write to only the committed. Commitment requires a sacrifice. Even if it is tiny.
Let me explain.
The world is upside down, it really is. Freedom ain’t what it used to be, so we need a walled garden to play within.
I have only 50 subscribers, most of who are friends and family.
(I’m not asking you for money & thank you for Subscribing )
This site is open access, so in theory anyone can peer in. However, there are things I want to write about that are not wholly appropriate for the general public and I don’t want it going out to everybody.
For example:
A book I plan on writing. Once finished it will be made free. For the time being I will post chapters here.
Sensitive Commentary. Things that could be understood wrongly if read ‘out of context’.
Other experimental writing. I have adventures that most people wouldn’t believe.
Money matters.
Spiritual Talk (not for the uninitiated).
Audio and Video experiments.
Experiments with music and code.
I would still like people to read my writing, it’s not a secret. I want it out there in the ether, not on a hard-drive rotting. Two books of mine died there already.
However, by putting a paywall in front of it, only those chosen by interest or fate will enter the Mystical Kingdom of Vikid.
Elon made a similar calculation, so I think I’m in worthy company.
What do I promise for the small fee?
I can’t make too many promises on an experiment. However, I will write a lot more freely and make it worthwhile, it maybe even enlightening. With freedom comes expressive power which I have been limiting.
As for magic, there’s going to be plenty of that.
All you have to do is tap in…
And That’s,
