On Intelligence and Stupidity

And it being a learned behavior.

“Stupidness is a learned behavior”

That’s what Vikid was thinking on the way to a wedding.

He had read the literature which actually correlated IQ to inheritance. Smart parents led to smart children, just as a merger between two tall people leads to equally lengthy kids. Cats also beget more cats, dogs to dogs, etc…

The wedding was a bit of a dull event set against a beautiful backdrop, picture perfect, on a beach under a golden sunset. Smart people, lovely location, another wedding following a similar pattern. Wows made, a jovial but traditional grooms speech, flowers and lackluster canapés. Couldn’t be anymore cliché.

The bride was the daughter of a savvy business man, the guests consisting of family and his associates in trade. All quite smart almost by definition.

Yet Vikid was thinking, what component of the prevailing IQ was due to biology?

On the counter argument, the Chinese all speak Chinese, as do the Swedes who have their own linguistic system. Surely this isn’t biology. The Germans are known for their steadfastness, the Brazilians for their football and the Italians for their super sleek super automobiles. Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati.

Surely this has very little to do with genetic hereditary.

We are born into an environment, in which we pick up many traits and Vikid was thinking that intellect followed this model, except perhaps it’s more strongly controlled by key people. Like who your parents are, not what they are. If the right teacher took you under their wing at school. Which friends you settled on as you grew up and what books you read.

Perhaps more than intellect Vikid was speaking of wisdom, which seemed to be in very short supply these days.

But it really looked to him that intellect was a function of belief and practice.

He could see that with his playing of guitar. When practice was diligent and the mood was right, the results could be stunning. However in a few short months neglect, all of that work could fall apart. There was a trick to allowing the mind to be tuned and free. Some people called it flow, athletes were very aware of it.

Vikid thought that the exhibition of intellect might be linked with flow and self belief. The mind merely had to be left free and one needed to trust it. That was how intellect flowed and expressed itself. A gift that everyone one had in proportions unmanifested.

He saw this in his kids. How they approached difficult questions in Math or Spelling. When the child wasn’t resisting, the right answers flowed effortlessly. When the kid was tired, confused or scared, nothing you did had any effect.

He felt similar when reading his books. Certain authors had a way of writing that lifted the reader to their plane of thought subliminally. That was the sign of good writing. Other authors on the same subject could make you feel really stupid, though there wasn’t much difference in content. The results not having to do much with the readers intellect and much more on the writers ability to elicit it.

In fact much complaint had already been received about Vikid’s own stories. He wrote with obscure references and what was being said wasn’t understood by many a reader. Vikid apologized profusely but the subject matter demanded it. It just had to be read and the intellect would clock it subconsciously. Much of what Vikid himself read was strange and the real meaning revealed itself, sometimes years later. Vikid asked the reader to trust the process.

At any case, Intellect was all learned behavior and purposeful programming. You could train populations to exhibit stupidness and that was what was actually happening.

None of those kids are that stupid. The stupidness had been drilled into them.

But who was doing the drilling? Ask yourself…

Amongst his peers and people much smarter than him, Vikid has noticed a similar behavior but only about different topics.

Like about Quaccines and their history, his peers were dumber than those kids. They knew nothing and pronounced their stupidness with zeal.

Or political history, religion and spirituality, the world energy systems, genetic engineering etc.

We all had sufficient intellect but had been drilled to exhibit stupidness about them.

Vikid presumed that 90% of the world could achieve anything Elon Musk had. His genius status was just marketing. The trick was to make you think you were stupid.

“Just follow the genius because you are nothing.”

That’s the mantra for drilling dumbness. It was just learned behavior. Drilled into your brain.

Do you work things out for yourself, or put your trust in experts???

Vikid thought 95% of the world could do what Bill Gates or Steve Jobs did, if they wanted to.

And similar percentages could understand quantum physics if the material was presented properly.

It just took a little time and self belief, we were all connected to the creator. Divine Intelligence.

So the wedding completed and then started the reception. He met an old gentleman from Denmark who had a very successful business in Shipping. He met others who worked for Microsoft and other large conglomerates. None was really smarter than the other, the differences were based on their interests and their belief in what they could achieve.

The evening ended with much champagne and laughter.
