A Metaphor for Spirituality and All That Is.

It is not an uncommon sight these days, to see people stuck looking at their mobile screens as the world passes by them. In fact, it’s a cliche.
This is a metaphor for spirituality and all that is.
The wonders and grandeur of the world are available at all times but our focus is elsewhere. You attend church or temple, buy books, listen to the next preacher, yogi or self-help guru in vogue, worship at his feet, while he tells you some finely worded bullshit. We have channelers speaking to the Pleiadians. Empaths accessing the Akashic records. Flat-Earthers & Globers, all keeping themselves and you confused.
If you are too secular for that, no worries, we have you covered too.
Some of my favorite kind of bullshiters are the new wellness gurus - it’s keto this, vegan that, followed by cold plunges and sauna treatments (with lots of science to back it up). Barefoot running anyone?
We have the trauma gurus, where it’s all about processing “generational” pain and getting to know yourself. Or it’s about drinking psychedelic brews in an effort to understand the nature of reality.
We have business gurus. Investment wonks. ESG. Climate Warriors, Goldbugs, Crypto dudes. Libertarians, Bernie Bros. RFK Jr, Vivek “the Snake” Ramaswamy. Low Energy Joe with his coked up son and their arch enemy, Drumpf. Political charlatans. Just give them power, to solve all the problems… let them control the Internet to stop the bad’uns.
Wars for Peace. Funny one that. Why can’t people see it?
None of these gurus are wrong on the face of it but they hide the truth by telling beautiful lies. They lie to themselves first, that’s the charm.
Eating well is great, though whether you need a few thousand books and podcasts telling what you that means, is highly dubious. Have you noticed, Animals just Eat.
Similarly, dealing with trauma is fine, required in fact and psychedelics are a fantastic way of shifting consciousness. But getting obsessed about it isn’t. Tattooing your whole body in the pursuit isn’t either.
What’s with all the tattoos?
Why are all these people continuously “healing”?
Why are there thousands interpretations of each sacred book and a guru for each one of them? The texts are fairly clear, if you bother to read them.
Why do we have the same political arguments every 5 years? The same wars, for the same reasons. Just a change in location, like changes in fashion. Always for peace. Always some bogeyman from a place far away, who speaks a language we don’t understand.
It's also a fact that most of which is occult, isn't so hidden out of spite or a will to power. It hidden because the possessor of such knowledge understands that he isn't able to communicate with those not yet ready, so he or she doesn’t.
It is for this same reason I don't discuss Quantum Physics with my six year old son. It's not that I want to hide anything from him, he just isn't ready for it. Instead, I speak to him about these subjects in metaphor, using analogies and stories that resonate with him at his level.
So it is with all matters important. The information starts flooding in when it’s observed that you are ready. Until then, the same information is fed to you in innuendo, parables and metaphor or not at all.
Let’s take an example of a haircut I had today. I went to the same place I always go to for over 10 years.
The guy starts cutting my hair as usual. He then tells me he hasn’t seen me in a while because he hurt his back and was in severe pain for the last two months. I tell him that back pain is terrible and takes times to heal.
Nothing out of the ordinary so far but then he says, “it’s not so bad like my father”. So I ask him why and this is when things get very interesting.
It turns out that his dad lives in Syria. There, during the war the apartment block that he lived in, in Idlib, was bombed and collapsed. My hairdressers two brothers died that day. Along with that his father has adopted 26 children whose parents also didn’t make it out of the rubble.
Now, my hairdresser sends all his earnings and savings to his dad to help out. At the moment he doesn’t have enough money to send his own children to school. So he asked his wife if she wants to go back to Syria with the kids as it is cheaper there and the security situation has improved. She refused and says, school or no school, we are not going back. He tried to get a loan but the bank refused him on account of his passport.
This is Nature, it’s Naturally Occult. You only hear the stories when you are ready. He opened up to this event that happened 7 years ago, only today. I guess he felt I was ready. He wasn’t complaining either or asking for sympathy or money. He was just sharing, smiling and at peace. My hair (or whatever is left of it) was cut perfectly and I left.
War never bought Peace,
Spiritual War leads to Spiritual Turmoil and,
War with the Self leads to Hell.
The message came through finally.
Calculus was similarly discovered when we were ready to understand it. It was always there. It still is and kids are not introduced to it in school until they are deemed ready. What it describes is naturally hidden, though in plain sight. The only thing that changed was the human mind became ready for it. We didn’t actually get any smarter. Today, millions of people can do calculus.
The concept is not hard, though if you are not ready then you won’t “get it”, no matter how hard the teacher tries to stuff it into your head. I didn’t get it until I was well into my thirties (and I passed engineering college without really understanding it). I just used the techniques blindly.
Or think of flight. The airplane. None of it was that hard to find or conceive and within a hundred years of making the first flight we have rockets that can circle the globe in minutes. Thousands and thousands of engineers building incredible flying machines. Kids building paper airplanes and drones. It’s not difficult but it looks like it is, if you are not ready.
So the question is, how does one get “ready”. That’s the trillion dollar question. That’s what every spiritual teacher and self help guru is actually selling you, whether you know it or not.
Selling you a way out of what is Naturally Occult. They’re selling you The Secret.
There are many techniques. Ironically, you can buy them in a book or lecture series but you will only “get it” when you are ready. No amount of pushing will help, though following your intuition will. Part of it is being open to other people’s ideas and really listening. For that to happen the internal chatterbox needs to quieten down. The know-it-all inside must be undone. That’s all that meditation really is. Reducing the chatter, so that the message can be heard. Yoga, Chi-gong (and other similar traditions) on the other hand are about getting your nervous ready to receive and embody the messages.
There are many ways to go about this, however. The biggest ones are humbleness and gratitude. Prayer, true prayer. The mind really does quieten down a lot when those are cultivated. Reading Scripture. Walks in nature are fantastic. Music created by real instruments help. Studying and playing them too. Classic Poetry. Sitting down quietly with no agenda in mind. Fasting for extended periods is huge one. So is faith. Faith in yourself and faith in the higher order yet to unfold for your recognition. Faith not to be in a rush.
So many techniques that will come naturally and without new age gurus. Not that gurus are bad either, but the good ones will come to you, naturally. You definitely don’t have to go out searching for them.
There is not too much difference between the layman and the expert. We both fall for the same problems. We just find differently complex solutions.
However, there is another way, naturally occult, it’s just one click or effortless insight away, if you are ready…
