I met a very interesting man yesterday. His story is not quite rags to riches but close enough.
The guy did it, not through some internet get quick rich scheme. There was no AI or Crypto involved. No consultancy fees. No new technology. No rich dad behind him.
He did it through bottling tap water.
The water isn’t even fancy. It doesn’t claim to be anything that it’s not. There is no false advertising on the label either.
He didn’t use any bank facilities. No stock market or gofundme either.
He has a better secret sauce and I saw it in person.
The guy is charming, wearing his passion on the sleeve.
He didn’t try to over sell me but I wanted to buy.
What he was selling this time however was not water, it’s his whole company, which opened its door in 2018.
Just just 5 years ago with a pandemic in between.
The factory was fully automated. It was organized and clean. 22,000 bottles by the hour flying off the machines.
He drives a very flashy car, sports a big watch but it looks quite natural on him.
He wasn’t too tall or good looking. In fact, he had a large belly and ate a samosa as large as my hand in front of me.
It was a mini miracle to see.
I thought about it. It makes a lot of sense but I would have to do everything he isn’t and that would probably break the spirit of the operation.
I would have to take out a big loan to buy it. He runs his operation debt free.
I would have to appoint a manager. He runs his business by himself, solely.
I would have to make friends in places I don’t like going to. He goes there with glee.
I would need to turn on the charm. His exudes naturally.
Also, I would have to sell plastic water bottles for a living. Something I don’t actually believe in.
Still, it’s nice to see mini miracles. It’s a great teacher to fact that success really is a mindset and circumstances are an illusion of excuses.
If you can make it, selling bottled tap water in this economy, with no qualifications, except your charm, dedication and hard work,
then you can achieve anything.
And that’s,
