On Portals and Cattle
Some movies can change your life. Event Horizon, a 1997 film, was one of them. It starts off innocently enough, like any other sci-fi, a space ship, a rather quirky crew sent to investigate a research ship that’s gone silent.
Somewhere along the line you realize sci-fi is definitely not what you’re in for, it’s something entirely different.
What’s different leaves you shaking from hours to days but in a way it never leaves you.
I encourage you to watch it today if you can, pirate it if you have to, for this I give you my permission.
1984, that book by Orwell, is another such book. By the end of it you are irreversibly altered.
That you must read immediately, it’s highly prescient. Not a movie, comic or some other adaptation, read the original.
There are times to read light fiction. However there are times in which you need to understand what’s happening around you, otherwise you end up getting into that train, totally unawares that it leads to a chamber.
Cattle don’t know what’s going to happen to them until the last moment either.
As a species we’ve always told ourselves stories. The truth of the story is embedded in its structure, not in the characters or events.
The Boy Who cried Wolf,
Red Riding Hood,
The Tortoise and the Hare (Fables)
The Iliad (Mythology)
The Matrix (Modern Mythology)
Etc etc…
I believe these two stories that I’ve proposed above, Event Horizon and 1984 will clue you up a great deal of what is going on right now.
From Kier Starmer to Bangladesh.
We’ve opened a portal and let something inside. Don’t be Cattle.
and that’s
The Vikid Truth.
Or you could skip the stories and just start with Behold a Pale Horse......
