Last year I completed a 20 day water fast. The lessons I learned from that experience were life changing. (Apart from the fact my life didn’t change at all, ha ha!).
But in all seriousness when you don’t eat for that long, surviving mainly on water and a little coconut juice, your entire system changes. I have rarely had such clarity of thought. Contrary to popular belief & opinion, I actually gained more energy. I wanted to get out and exercise. My mind opened up to the ethereal. It was a deeply spiritual experience.
This year, while my family are away and business is a little quieter than usual, I have decided to do the Phoenix protocol. Which was recommended to me by a friend.
The basic idea of the fast is a dry one. That means you don’t drink any water or fluid at all. Nothing goes in through your mouth for 7 days. You are encouraged to bathe. The skin has the properties to absorb water and to also flush out toxins. There is some funky theory within the book that explains how your body actually has a mechanism for endogenous water protection. Basically, as fat cells are consumed by the body, it produces Carbon Dioxide and Water. That water is enough for you to survive on. While this is going on, you also enter a state of Autophagy. That’s when all kinds of junk and weak cells are cannibalized by the rest of the body, leading to healing.
That’s the theory and I may have to go through some hell on the first few days to test it. To be truthful, I have kept a pretty unhealthy lifestyle for quite a while now. The pandemic and its aftermath had a profoundly negative impact on my mental strength. Just seeing what it has done to society, the wars that have spun out of control, the controlled demolition of our economies and food supply, put me on a major downer. The fact that I saw it over 2 years ago and practically nobody listened was a further exercise in frustration.
Anyway, not here to complain. Things have to change. I am ready for the next challenge.
Enter the Phoenix…
