Avatar: The Way of Water
The Second Coming
Just a quick one today folks.
So I saw Avatar again yesterday for the second time.
I took my daughter who at 10 years, was highly reluctant.
“I don’t want to see the movie about blue aliens. It’s boring. I watched a little of the first one with my friend on her fathers TV, we shut it off after a few minutes.”
I told her some things are about who you see it with, how you see it and when you see it… Giving credit where it is worth, she accepted to lose her afternoon and watch the film with Daddy.
And what a good decision it was.
Now three weeks ago, I went to the Cinema on my own because I couldn’t find anyone to watch it with. I enjoyed the movie but I had many gripes, especially with the storyline and dialogue, however yesterday, all of that disappeared.
From the first moment to movie started, I was completely engrossed. It’s as if I had been transport to Pandora and become part of the surroundings. It was a spiritual experience, a soul looking into what was actually happening.
The 3D was complete immersion.
I looked to my side and saw my daughter, she was having the same experience. Her entire body was alive, her eyes wide open and her expression was of pure amazement.
I shed tears during the film and had a religious moment. It was as if I was in communion with Ewa. It was the second coming.
The film finished and we both went home very happy.
A perfect outing for a Daddy and his daughter.
A stark contrast from my first viewing.
I think it is something like watching another Robin Hood. Once you know the story and have accepted it for what it is, as supposed to, what you wanted it to be, you heart is free to watch the movie without distraction. To notice The Water.
This movie, if nothing else, is about water and its infinite glory.
It has a message, The Way of Water. The only thing is you have to get out of your own way to hear it.
The way of water has no beginning, and no end.
The sea is your home before your birth and after your death.
Water connects all things. Life to death. Darkness to light.
Killing, no matter how justified, brings more killing.
So if you haven’t seen it yet, I would say, get out and see it on IMAX 3D, it is the only way. If you have seen and didn’t quite like it or get it, see it again.
